- Bhagwan Birsa Munda was a young freedom fighter and tribal leader, born on 15th November 1875 to the Munda Tribe in the Chhota Nagpur Plateau area, Jharkhand, and known as Dharti Abba.
- He founded ‘Birsait,’ a sect emphasizing the importance of prayer, abstaining from alcohol, and having faith in God.
- Munda initiated the ‘Ulgulan’ (The Great Tumult) movement in Chaibasa to resist colonial and missionary exploitation of tribals.
- His birth anniversary is celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in honor of his contributions.
