India and Russia are collaborating on the Eastern Maritime Corridor (EMC) initiative to streamline cargo transport between Indian and Russian ports in the Far East Region.

About Eastern Maritime Corridor (EMC):
- It aims to significantly reduce cargo transport time between Indian and Russian ports.
- Its estimated time reduction from over 40 days to 24 days, covering a distance of 8,675 nautical miles.
- The Chennai-Vladivostok Sea route under EMC spans about 5,600 nautical miles and can be covered in 10 to 12 days by large container ships.
