Memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD) for ‘Job Coach for Inclusivity Programmes’.
About Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA):
- The IICA is a central civil service training institute, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
- It was established in 2008 to support the growth of the corporate sector in India through an integrated and multi-disciplinary approach.
- It is located in Manesar, Haryana.
- It has been authorized by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India to run a Graduate Insolvency Program.
Functions & Services:
- Acts as a think-tank and a Centre of Excellence.
- Provides policy support to the Government, especially in areas like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- Organizes various training programs in CSR.
- Offers capacity-building and advisory solutions through various Schools and Centres.
- Works in areas of Environmental-Social Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Business & Human Rights (BHR).
- Promotes inclusive growth in the country.
Schools and Centres:
- Operates through various entities such as the School of Corporate Law, School of Competition Law and Market Regulations, and a Centre for Business Innovation.
- Houses the top cadre training academy of the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), which is an organized Group A service.
Additional Roles:
- It handles matters related to Corporate Social Responsibility as enshrined in the Companies Act 2013.
- It mandated to handle the functioning of the National Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility.
About Job Coach for Inclusivity Programmes:
- It will equip the corporates in terms of knowledge, skills and competencies for building and managing a diverse workforce through the various entities created under the aegis of SCPwD and IICA.
- SCPwD has responsibility for skills and workforce development of Persons with Disability.
- SCPwD, in collaboration with IICA, will take the lead in initiating skill courses on “Qualification – Job Coach for Inclusivity (JCI)” and other diverse areas to achieve the program’s objectives.
Objectives:
- Synergize the expertise of SCPwD and IICA.
- Equip corporates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies for building and managing a diverse workforce.
- Emphasizes the importance of promoting the inclusion of differently-abled people in the corporate workforce.
