About Know India Programme:

  • The Know India Programme abbreviated as KIP is a government initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for the Indian diaspora (excluding NRIs) between the age group of 18 to 30 years.
  • It aims to help Persons of Indian Origin youths familiarize themselves with their roots and contemporary India.

Objectives:

  • Foster a closer connection between Indian diaspora youth and their ancestral homeland.
  • Augment the understanding of India among the diaspora youth.
  • Acquaint participants with the history, culture, advancements, and achievements of modern India.

  • Presentations on various sectors like science & technology, IT, pharmaceuticals, startup ecosystem, digital infrastructure, education, defence, agriculture, and tourism.
  • Interaction with faculty and students at prestigious universities.

  • Visits to villages, states, places of historical importance, and cultural heritage sites.
