NITI Aayog, under its flagship initiative Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), has recently launched “AIM – ICDK Water Challenge 4.0” and “Innovations for You- Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Entrepreneurs of India” (IYSDG)handbook.
About Atal Innovation Mission (AIM):
- Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is the Government of India’s flagship initiative, launched in 2016 to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship throughout the country.
- Its functions include developing new programs and policies to enhance innovation across various economic sectors, providing platforms for stakeholder collaboration, and creating an umbrella structure to oversee India’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Major initiatives under AIM include:
- Atal Tinkering Labs at the school level
- Atal Incubation Centres which focus on building the startup and entrepreneur ecosystem in India
- Atal Community Innovation Centres aimed at serving unserved and under-served regions
- Atal New India Challenges for product and service innovation with national impact
- Mentor of Change program that fosters mentorship and partnerships with the public and private sectors, NGOs, academia, and institutions
