About The International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA):
- It will work towards the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of the 7 major big cats.
- 7 big cats: Tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, puma, jaguar, and cheetah.
- It will provide a platform for dissemination of information on benchmarked practices among others on the protection and conservation of big cats.
- Membership: Open to 97 “range” countries, which contains the natural habitat of these big cats, including other interested nations, international organisations, etc.
- Activities: Advocacy, partnership, knowledge e-portal, capacity building, eco-tourism, partnerships between expert groups, and finance tapping.
- Structure:
- General Assembly consisting of all member countries,
- General Council of at least 7 but not more than 15 member countries.
- Selection: elected by the General Assembly for 5 years.

- Funding: India assured support over 5 years with guaranteed funding of $100 million.
