List of latest additions to UNESCO’s 

UNESCO has inscribed 24 new properties as World Heritage Sites this year.

Of these, 19 are cultural properties, four are natural, and one is classified as mixed.

There are 1,123 World Heritage Sites located across 168 countries, with 231 being natural sites and 40 being mixed properties.

New natural properties include Badain Jaran Desert (China), Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (Brazil), The Flow Country (UK), and Vjetrenica Cave (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Badain Jaran Desert in China contains some of the tallest dunes on Earth and is known for its "singing sands."

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Brazil features crescent-shaped sand dunes filled with water, creating unique lagoons.

The Flow Country in the UK is a significant peatland storing a massive amount of carbon and home to various birds and animals.

Vjetrenica Cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a hotspot for cave-inhabiting biodiversity and houses critically endangered species.

Te Henua Enata – The Marquesas Islands in France is a mixed property with rare flora and fauna, and significant archaeological remains.
