- It refers to the right of a person to protect his/her personality including name, voice, signature, images, or any other feature easily identified as markers of personality.
Court’s Orders
- Restrained Entities: The Court has issued restraining orders against several entities, including:
- Social media profiles
- E-commerce sites
- An AI platform using personality attributes without authorization
- Government Directions: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to instruct telecom and internet service providers to block URLs/links containing infringing material.
