Union Minister of Women & Child Development and Minority Affairs, recently launched the logo and the website for the Alliance for Global Good- Gender Equity and Equality.
About Alliance for Global Good- Gender Equity and Equality:
- It was launched with the support and endorsement by World Economic Forum (WEF) and the Indian Government in Davos Summit 2024.
- It aims to bring together global best practices, foster knowledge sharing, and attract investments in key areas such as women’s health, education, and enterprise.
- The Alliance focused on these developments in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a roadmap for ending poverty, protecting the planet and tackling inequalities.
- The Alliance serves as a follow-up to the activities of the Engagement Group and initiatives under the G20 framework– Business 20, Women 20, and G20 EMPOWER.
- It will be housed and anchored by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Centre for Women Leadership.
- The WEF is the ‘Network Partner’ and Invest India acted as an ‘Institutional Partner’.
Logo of the Alliance:
- It forms the alphabet “e” which represents Equality and Equity.
- The Parallel strokes reflect collective action by Governments, industry and institutions enabling women to achieve their economic potential, globally.
- It has tricolour symbolizing the values of the Alliance- Saffron (strength and courage), white (truth), green (growth) and red dot (prosperity).
- The logo symbolises the collective nature and is inspired from Lord Ganesh representing intellect, wisdom and understanding.
