Recently, Union Minister of Cooperation inaugurated the National Cooperative Database.
About National Cooperative Database:
- The National Cooperative Database is a comprehensive data repository encompassing cooperative societies from primary to apex levels.
- It includes societies registered with State RCS, Functional Registrar, or CRCS.
- The database is accessible through a web-based digital dashboard, capturing information on cooperative entities, including national and state federations.
- It has collected or mapped information about 8 lakh cooperatives.
- It offers detailed information on the cooperative sector, encompassing the number of cooperatives in various states/UTs and across different sectors.
Benefits:
- It will facilitate stakeholders in policy making and implementation of programmes/ schemes related to cooperatives across the country.
- It will play a crucial role in the expansion of cooperatives, digital development, and delivery through databases.
- The database has the potential to connect primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) to Apex, villages to cities, mandis to the global market, and state databases to international databases.
- It maintains the authenticity of its data through a rigorous and scientific system, ensuring regular updates to provide accurate and reliable information.
