Kanger Valley National Park is collaborating with organizations and government departments to create a landscape-based ecological restoration plan.
About Kanger Valley National Park:
- Also known as Kanger Ghati National Park, it was established in July 1982.
- It is located in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, India.
- It extends from Tirathgarh Waterfall (West), Kolab River (East), and borders the state of Odisha.
- The Kanger River valley divides the park into two halves.
Biodiversity:
- Fauna: Panther, Wildcat, Cheetal (Spotted Deer), Sambhar, Barking Deer, Wild Pig, Jackal, Langur, Rhesus Macaque, Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrel, Python, Hyena, Rabbit, Crocodile, and Civet.
- Avifauna: Birds of prey, scavenging birds, water birds, pheasants, and the Bastar Hill Myna (Gracula religiosa peninsularis), state bird of Chhattisgarh.
- Reptiles and Insects: Various species of snakes, lizards, butterflies, moths, and dragonflies.
- Flora:Â It is home to a wide range of plant species, including bryophytes and pteridophytes.
