Union Home Minister recently launched Digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS), and mobile app ‘Sankalan‘.
About the Digital Criminal Case Management System (CCMS):
- It is a user-friendly, customizable, browser-based software for State Police forces, that aims to enhance coordination in terrorism and organized crime cases, improve justice delivery and conviction rates in complex cases.
- It will facilitate integration and digitalization of investigation data.
- It was developed by the NIA (National Investigation Agency).
About the Sankalan Mobile app:
- It is a compendium of new criminal laws by NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau).
- It will act as a comprehensive guide for stakeholders, and as a bridge between old and new criminal laws.
- It will be available offline and thus accessible in remote areas.
