  • This system, based on compliance with the 1993 Paris Principles, allows access to UN committees.
  • With 120 members, including India, GANHRI’s secretariat is housed within UN Human Rights.
  • Before 2016, it was known as the International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions.
  • The accreditation for NHRIs by GANHRI is based on the Paris Principles, with ‘A status’ indicating full compliance and ‘B status’ signifying partial compliance.
