Ministry of Textiles has approved seven startup proposals under the GREAT scheme.
About GREAT Scheme:
- The program is called the Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles, abbreviated as GREAT.
- The initiative is overseen by the Ministry of Textiles.
- GREAT is a key component of the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).
- It falls under the Research, Development, and Innovation Component of NTTM.
- Eligible projects can receive a grant-in-aid of up to INR 50 lakhs, which is provided over 18 months.
- Goals of the Scheme:
- To leverage India’s expertise in the technical textiles sector.
- To promote the development and introduction of innovative products and technologies in the market.
