India has recently talked with Sri Lanka to acquire Graphite mines.
About Graphite:
- Graphite is a grey/black mineral, with a metallic lustre, found in metamorphic and igneous rocks.
- It is an allotrope of carbon and the most stable form of naturally occurring carbon.
- Its alias is Plumbago or black lead.
- Graphite is extremely soft and cleaves (splits into layers) with very light pressure. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity and is non-reactive to many chemicals.
