The India-US Defence Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X), launched in 2023, marks its first anniversary.
About INDUS-X:
- This initiative aims to establish a defence innovation bridge between India and the US focusing on critical and emerging technologies under the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).
- It fosters partnerships among defence technology companies, investors, incubators, universities, and researchers. INDUS-X connects the national defence ecosystem bases, such as iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence) in India and the Defence Innovation Unit (DIU) in the U.S.
- Defence Cooperation between India & US: The US recognized India as a “Major defence partner” in 2016.
- The U.S.’ National Defense Industrial Strategy (NDIS) is aimed at building resilience in U.S. supply chains to support the US and its allies, including India.
