The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) announced at the United Nations 4th International Conference on SIDS in Antigua and Barbuda that funding would be provided through its Infrastructure for Resilient Island States Programme (IRIS).
About IRIS:
- IRIS, launched at COP26 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Glasgow, UK, aims to offer technical support and enhance the disaster and climate resilience of infrastructure assets in SIDS (Small Island Developing States).
- The programme supports the UN’s SAMOA Pathway initiative, which seeks to improve the resilience of SIDS infrastructure to climate change and disasters.
- Countries like the UK and Australia are key supporters.
