The International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) celebrates World Hydrography Day on 21 June annually, with this year’s theme being “Hydrographic Information – Enhancing Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability in Marine Activities.”

• The International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) is an intergovernmental body focused on ensuring that all the world’s seas, oceans, and navigable waters are surveyed and charted.
• Founded in 1921 with its Secretariat based in the Principality of Monaco since its inception.
• Functions: The IHO coordinates the activities of national hydrographic offices.
