The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has released its annual NeSDA Way Forward Report 2023.
Key Highlights of the report:
- Increased e-Services Provision: A remarkable increase in the total number of e-services offered by states and Union Territories (UTs), from 11,614 in April 2023 to 16,487 by December 2023.
- Leading Regions in e-Services: The UT of Jammu and Kashmir emerged as a frontrunner, providing the highest number of e-services, totaling 1,117.
- Saturation Level Achievement: Achieved a saturation level of 76% for possible mandatory e-services across states and UTs, marking an improvement from 69% under NeSDA 2021.
- Unified Portals: Kerala, Assam, Odisha, and the UT of Jammu and Kashmir distinguished themselves by offering 100% of their e-services through unified portals, ensuring a streamlined and user-friendly digital experience for citizens.
- Promotion of Faceless Services: The report highlights the department’s key effort in promoting faceless and suo moto entitlement-based service delivery, aiming to reduce physical interaction and increase efficiency in public service delivery.
- Monthly Reports and Sector Coverage: The publication of nine NeSDA Way Forward monthly reports from March to December 2023, covering seven sectors and featuring over 40 best practices, underscores the comprehensive approach towards sharing knowledge and innovations in e-governance.
- Engagement with Key Stakeholders: Notable engagement activities with RTS (Right to Service) Commissioners and appellate officers have been undertaken to improve the delivery of e-services. Additionally, a brainstorming session with industry leaders on future e-governance initiatives indicates a collaborative approach towards harnessing technology for public service enhancement.
