- Powers to Intercept Postal Articles: The government may intercept postal articles for reasons including the security of the state, public order, maintaining friendly relations with foreign states, and during emergencies.
- Exemptions from Liability: The government is exempt from any liability related to the loss, misdelivery, delay, or damage of a postal article.
- Penalties: The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023 has removed certain penalties and offences related to postal services.
