A non-governmental organization has recently initiated a project to construct 10,000 percolation wells in Bengaluru by 2026.
About the Percolation wells:
- A percolation well consists of an earthen dam reinforced with concrete rings, which is then filled with gravel.
- It captures rainwater and facilitates its percolation down to natural aquifers. This process involves the water seeping through various soil layers before it reaches the aquifers.
