About PRERANA program

  • The program is designed for students in classes IX to XII, aiming to empower them with leadership qualities through a week-long residential experience.
  • Rooted in the principles of the Indian education system and value-based education, Prerana aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
  • It is an experiential and inspirational learning program for students with the best-in-class technology where heritage meets innovation.
  • The program operates from a Vernacular School founded in 1888 in Vadnagar, Gujarat, one of India’s oldest cities in the Mehsana district.
    • The school in Vadnagar serves as a tribute to the city’s resilient spirit, overcoming challenges such as earthquakes and natural calamities.
    • Vadnagar is a living city with ancient heritage sites and monuments dating back to the early historic period, continuing to thrive in the modern era.

Format:

  • The Prerana School curriculum, developed by IIT Gandhi Nagar, revolves around nine value-based themes:
    • Swabhiman and Vinay
    • Shaurya and Sahas
    • Parishram and Samarpan
    • Karuna and Sewa
    • Vividhta and Ekta
    • Satyanishtha and Shuchita
    • Navachar and Jigyasa
    • Shraddha aur Vishwas
    • Swatantrata and Kartavya.
  • Through these themes, the program aims to inspire and instill respect for India’s unity in diversity, embodying the ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”.
  • Participants, comprising 10 boys and 10 girls, will engage in yoga, mindfulness, experiential learning, thematic sessions, and hands-on activities.
  • Evening activities include visits to ancient sites, inspirational film screenings, talent shows, and mission life creative activities for a holistic learning approach.
  • The program encourages diversity by embracing indigenous knowledge systems, incorporating State-of-Art technologies, and learning from inspirational personalities.
