LinkedIn India, a job recruiting site, has released a report “Women in Leadership in Corporate India.”
Key Highlights of the report:
Globally:
- Women are underrepresented in senior leadership positions (32.1%) compared to their overall workforce participation (41.8%) in 2023.
- There’s also a slight disparity between high-income (20.1%) and lower-middle income countries (19.2%) in terms of female top managers. (World Bank, 2022)
India:
- While there’s been an increase in women’s board representation (from 6% in 2013 to 18% in 2022), only 16.2% of senior and middle management positions were held by women in 2022. (World Bank, 2022)
