As per a report the Quad has transformed from a budding security dialogue into a multifaceted partnership with far-reaching goals through the creation of six leader-level working groups.
About Quad:
- Quad, formally known as the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QSD), includes the United States, India, Australia, and Japan.
- The Quad originated from the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami response efforts.
- Initiated in 2007 by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
- The first meeting was held alongside ASEAN and has met biannually since 2017.
- Post-2017, it is known as QUAD 2.0, influenced by ASEAN Summit frameworks.
- The Quad promotes a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
- Aims to keep the region prosperous, resilient, and a force for global good.
