IIT Delhi recently hosted the first Networking Event of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT)‘s Sangam Digital Twin initiative.
About the ‘Sangam: Digital Twin’:
- ‘Sangam: Digital Twin’ is a proof-of-concept initiative aimed at transforming infrastructure planning and design, thus revolutionizing India’s infrastructural landscape.
- Launched by: Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
- Technology Integration: Utilizes advanced technologies such as 5G, IoT, AI, AR/VR, AI-native 6G, Digital Twin, and next-generation computational technologies.
- Collaboration Platform: Creates a unified platform for all stakeholders to showcase practical infrastructural planning and implementation solutions.
- Implementation Phases: The initiative will be carried out in two stages—Exploration stage and Demonstration stage—in one of India’s major cities.
- Significance: Aims to enhance utility value, optimize resource utilization, and reduce costs through effective data integration.
