About the Sea anemone:

  • It is an ocean-dwelling animal with soft bodies and an ability to sting, used for predation.
  • Mostly found in coastal tropical waters.
  • Closely associated with corals and live rocks due to a symbiotic relationship with green algae.
  • Has a symbiotic relationship with clownfish, hermit crabs, small fish, etc.
  • Significant for playing biogeochemical roles in benthic (bottom-most zone of the ocean) ecosystems.
