In a notable move to strengthen indigenous manufacturing and promote innovation in the pharmaceutical sector, the Technology Development Board (TDB) has partnered with M/s Alchem Synthon Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai.
About Technology Development Board (TDB):
- The TDB is a statutory body of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), under Ministry of Science and Technology.
- The Government of India constituted the Technology Development Board (TDB) in 1996, under the Technology Development Board Act, 1995.
- It objective is to promote development and commercialization of indigenous technology and adaptation of imported technology for wider application.
- The TDB presents National Awards to industrial concerns for successful commercialization of indigenous technology on National Technology Day every year on May 11.
Objectives:
- Promoting new ideas from small enterprises.
- Facilitates interaction between industry, scientists, technocrats and specialists
- Encouraging the production of competitive consumer products.
- Motivating industries and R&D institutions for product innovation.
- Providing financial assistance to Indian industrial concerns and other agencies.
- Translating the fruits of indigenous research into commercial products or services.
- Assisting partnerships with other, similar technology financing bodies.
- Providing vistas for venturing into hi-tech areas.
- Creating new job opportunities.
