  • This report was prepared in collaboration with the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) and the Commonwealth Secretariat.
  • It analyzes for the first time the economic and societal costs associated with educational deficiencies.

  • Reducing school dropouts by just 10% could boost GDP growth by 1 to 2% points annually.
  • Educational deficiencies are linked to a 69% rise in early pregnancies among young girls globally.
  • Each additional year of secondary education significantly reduces the likelihood of girls marrying and having children before the age of 18.
