Key findings

  • Only 16% of the SDG targets are on track to be met by 2030, with significant challenges in achieving SDGs related to Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Life Below Water (SDG 14), Life on Land (SDG 15), and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16).
  • While Nordic countries lead in SDG achievements, with Finland ranked 1st, followed by Sweden and Denmark, the BRICS nations have shown notable progress, but poor and vulnerable nations continue to lag behind.
  • India is ranked 109th out of 166 countries with a score of 64, performing better in SDG 1 (poverty reduction) and SDG 4 (quality education), but facing challenges in SDG 11 (sustainable cities and communities) and SDG 13 (climate action).
