The UN Secretary-General recently introduced the United Nations Global Principles for Information Integrity (UNGPII), designed to tackle online misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech.
UNGPII consists of 5 core principles:
- Societal trust and resilience
- Independent, free, and pluralistic media
- Healthy incentives
- Transparency and research
- Public empowerment
