About VSHORADS Missile:

  • VSHORADS is an indigenously developed Very Short-Range Air Defence System missile.
  • It is classified as a MANPADS (Man-Portable Air Defence System).
  • The development was led by Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories and Indian Industry Partners.
  • The missile features many novel technologies including a miniaturized Reaction Control System (RCS) and integrated avionics.
  • It is propelled by a dual-thrust solid motor.
  • It is designed to neutralize low-altitude aerial threats at short ranges.
