About YUVIKA Programme:

  • The Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA) is an annual space education and training program by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
  • It is designed to introduce young students to emerging trends in space science and technology, aiming to inspire them to pursue careers in STEM fields.
  • The program targets students in rural areas and aims to raise awareness about advancements in science and technology.

Goals:

  • Aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Science, Space Technology, and Space Applications, YUVIKA strives to inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.
  • YUVIKA aims to motivate students to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-based research and careers.

Programme Structure:

  • The two-week programme includes classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, hands-on activities (CANSAT, Robotic kit, Model rocketry), interactions with ISRO scientists, field visits, and sky gazing.
  • Students are divided into batches based on geographical locations, receiving training at various ISRO centers.
