About the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship:
- The Sahitya Akademi Fellowship is the highest distinction given by the Akademi to a writer.
- It is reserved for “the immortals of literature” and limited to 21 persons at any given time.
- Nomination involves the General Council Members’ initial recommendation, followed by approval from the President and Executive Board.
- Serving members of any Board or Council of Sahitya Akademi, or the serving office bearers or staff of Sahitya Akademi, are not eligible.
