The Indian Army has ordered 114 Dhanush artillery guns, with one regiment already operational.
Dhanush Artillery Guns:
- Dhanush is a 155 mm, 45-calibre towed artillery gun with a range of 36 km, extendable to 38 km with specialized ammunition.
- It represents an upgrade over the existing 155 mm, 39-calibre Bofors FH 77 gun.
- The Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited, formed post-corporatization of the Ordnance Factory Board, is collaborating with the Army for production.
Pinaka Multi-Rocket Launch Systems (MRLS):
- The Indian Army currently possesses four Pinaka regiments, with six more on order.
- Plans are underway to increase their range significantly.
- DRDO is exploring the extension of Pinaka rockets’ range to 120 km and 300 km.
- The original Pinaka rockets had a range of 37 km, enhanced to 45 km with the upgraded Mk-1 version.
- The guided Pinaka has an impressive range of 75 km.
- DRDO has successfully tested a Pinaka Area Denial Munition rocket system and is developing Pinaka rockets with a range of 120 km.
