China’s High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), set to be the first 4th generation synchrotron ligsht source in Asia, is nearing operational status.
About the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS):
- HEPS (High Energy Photon Source) is a high-energy synchrotron light source, employs an array of magnets known as the “multi-bend achromat lattice” to produce narrower and brighter X-ray beams than previous generations.
- This facility will enhance research into the microstructure of materials, including their formation, evolution, and properties, covering dimensions of space, time, energy, molecules, atoms, electrons, and spin.
