Prime Minister recently laid the foundation for numerous development projects in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep.
About the Kavaratti:
- The Kavaratti is the capital of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep in India.
- It is one of the coral islands in the Arabian Sea.
- It consists of lagoons and has the maximum number of mosques in Lakshadweep including the Jamnath, Mohidden and Ujra being the most prominent ones.
- It has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under the flagship Smart Cities Mission.
