Location of Italy:

• Italy is situated in south-central Europe, bordered by France to the northwest, Switzerland and Austria to the north, and Slovenia to the northeast.
• It also encompasses two enclaves: Vatican City and San Marino.
• Italy’s coastlines are shared with the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Adriatic Sea to the northeast, the Ionian Sea to the southeast, the Tyrrhenian Sea to the southwest, and the Ligurian Sea to the northwest.
• Major rivers include the Po, Tiber, Adige, and Arno. Notable lakes are Bolsena, Albano, and Lesina. Significant mountains feature Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco) and Monte Rosa.
