Location of Lebanon

The European Union announced $1 billion in aid for Lebanon in migrant crisis and the threat of war with Israel.

Location of Lebanon:

• Lebanon is located in West Asia, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the west, to the south of Lebanon is Israel, while Syria lies to its east and north.
• Lebanon shares maritime borders with Cyprus.
• The country features the Al-Biqā valley, situated between the Lebanon Mountains to the west and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains to the east.
  • This valley is part of the larger East African Rift System.
• Qurnat al-Sawdā is the highest peak in Lebanon.
• The Līānī and Orontes rivers are significant water bodies in the country.
• The Anti-Lebanon mountain range forms a portion of Lebanon’s border with Syria.
