The Prime Minister of Spain refused to resign after a court opened an initial inquiry into his wife over corruption claims.

Location of Spain:

• Parts of its territory extend to the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and Africa.
• It is the largest country in Southern Europe and the fourth-most populous European Union member state.
• It encompasses the majority of the Iberian Peninsula.
• It includes the Canary Islands (Atlantic Ocean), the Balearic Islands (Mediterranean Sea), and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla in Africa.
• It shares its borders with France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay to the North, the Mediterranean Sea and Gibraltar to the East & South, and Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean to the West.
