Representatives from India and the U.S. recently convened to launch the RETAP (Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform) under the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership.
About the Renewable Energy Technology Action (RETAP):
- The RETAP aims to accelerate the deployment and scaling of new and emerging renewable energy technologies, with an initial focus on green/clean hydrogen, wind energy, long duration energy storage, and exploring geothermal energy, ocean/tidal energy, and other emerging technologies as mutually determined in the future.
- It was announced in 2023 and is guided by 5 themes: Research & Development, Piloting & Testing of Innovative Technologies, Advanced Training & Skill Development, Policy & Planning for Advancing RET and enabling technologies, and Investment, Incubation and Outreach programmes.
